Armor Up and Venture Out
About Trail Armor Handcrafted UTV Protection, Built By Riders, For Riders
One rock. One bad hit. One cracked transmission case. For UTV riders who push their machines through the most demanding terrain, the difference between a great ride and a costly breakdown often comes down to what is protecting the underside of their vehicle. Trail Armor exists to make sure that difference never costs you an adventure.
What Is Trail Armor? (Brand at a Glance)
Trail Armor is a Corinth, Mississippi based manufacturer of protective underbody armor for UTVs and side-by-sides, including skid plates, A-arm guards, and mud shields built from the company's proprietary Super Tough Polymer. So if you're asking who makes Trail Armor, the answer is a small, rider-owned team, Allison and Aundre Turner, who design, mold, and ship every product from their own facility rather than outsourcing production overseas.

Our Story
How Did Trail Armor Start?
The story of Trail Armor is one of innovation born from experience. The company's roots trace back to October 11, 1999, when Rockin'A Interiors, Inc. was founded to build custom, high end horse trailer interiors. That craftsmanship background would later shape an entirely different product line.
The turning point came in December 2004, when co-owner Aundre purchased a Yamaha Rhino. After several rides, he noticed gaps in the vehicle's factory protection. Drawing on his experience as a custom cabinet maker, Aundre began developing his own solution. Local Yamaha dealers noticed and asked to sell it, and on January 1, 2005, TrailArmor.com was officially launched.
From the beginning, Trail Armor was built around a simple realization: factory installed protection was never designed for the realities of serious off-road riding.
Made In Corinth, Mississippi
Why Does Trail Armor Manufacture In-House?
Under the leadership of owners Allison and Aundre, Trail Armor designs and manufactures its products in-house at its facility in Corinth, Mississippi. Keeping production under one roof lets the company hold to consistent quality standards, prototype new designs based on rider feedback, and release protection for new vehicle models without waiting on overseas production timelines.
More than a manufacturing shop, the Corinth workshop reflects Trail Armor's approach: riders building products for riders.
What Makes Trail Armor Different?
At the center of every Trail Armor product is the material the company builds around: half-inch Super Tough Polymer.
- No Impact Memory: A standard metal skid plate that takes a hard hit stays dented, which can push it into contact with the transmission case, engine mounts, or fuel lines. Super Tough Polymer absorbs the impact and returns to its original shape.
- The Glide Effect: Metal plates can catch on rock and stall momentum. Super Tough Polymer has a low coefficient of friction, so the vehicle glides over obstacles instead of grabbing them.
- Weight and Durability: Lighter than steel, resistant to rust and corrosion, and built to hold up across a wide temperature range with no ongoing maintenance.
| Property | Super Tough Polymer (Trail Armor) | Aluminum |
|---|---|---|
| Impact Memory | None, returns to shape | High, dents permanently |
| Corrosion Resistance | 100% rust-proof | Moderate (oxidation) |
| Friction / Glide | Low, slides over rocks | High, tends to catch |
| Weight | Lightweight | Heavier |
| Maintenance | None required | Rust treatment needed |

Fast shipping, no surprises. Ordered Sunday, arrived Tuesday. Everything was exactly as described. I've been burned by online shopping before and this felt different.
